As an Ambassador to the Guernsey Dairy, I was honoured to be featured in their blog.

“Her tours offer a glimpse into Guernsey's resourceful and ambitious spirit. "When I explain that Guernsey folk have always been resourceful, often with multiple sources of income tied to farming and growing, visitors begin to understand what makes Guernsey unique. In the last century, a quarryman might keep a cow, a fisherman might grow a few tomatoes, and a farmer's wife might knit stockings while the farmer made cider. Many rural families even ran guest houses or holiday chalets during the early days of tourism," Rachel reflects”

The Bluetits Chill Swimmers visit

I had a lovely afternoon showing Sian from The Bluetits Chill Swimmers who had a recent visit to the Island. She was kind enough to mention me in her write up about her visit

“ A fantastic lady called Rachel met us off the plane. She runs a company called 1st Call Guernsey Tours. So she whisked me off in her little Mini Cooper and off we went to our first port of call, Portlet. There was a little kiosk there selling Guernsey crab sandwiches and this was very delightful when we arrived because the sun was shining. The hut is right on this little prominent bit of headland.”

Rachel,

What a great trip we have had with you as our guide. You are personable, engaging and with a good sense of humour – perfect for a guide. The more we got to know you, the more relaxed we became, not just with you but

with each other and the more we got to like you. We’ve had fun with the group, and we really appreciate what you have done with the weather.

A big thank you from

.........you've handed me a treasure chest of stories that make me feel even more connected to Guernsey’s heartbeat. And speaking of treasures… those magical days you guided us around the island is still glowing in our memories. it’s all etched in gold. You didn’t just show us Guernsey, you brought it to life with your warmth, your stories, and that twinkle in your eye. We’re forever grateful, dear Rachel. You’re not just a tour guide, you’re a keeper of island magic.

Well they say some of the best things in life happen spontaneously or by chance.  I originally was going to spend one day in Guernsey, but due to strong winds I was “stuck”. I decided it was a proper time for a tour.  Rachel got back to me very quickly with excitement and interest in putting together a last minute food and sights of Guernsey tour for me.  It was one of the best tours I have had.  Rachel picked me up from my hotel and brought me all over the island. Seeing the things off the beaten tack, through the small winding roads of Guernsey.  Beautiful Cliffs, A Guernsey Cow Farm, Ruins of an old Roman Ship, Guernsey Gashe (a local bread), Old WWII remnants, a fish market and a Gin Distillery. We did so much and didn’t even scratch the surface of the Tourist suggested spots.  Guernsey has so much to offer. Most of all as always what makes or breaks a tour is the guide.  Rachel was delightful. Knowledgeable not only about Guernsey, but also the world of travel.  With pick up and drop off service, a tailored tour to my interests, and lovely conversations I will be calling up Rachel again when I return to Guernsey.

All the best,

Spencer

Hi Rachel .

I did a town tour with Rachel in June, she was engaging and knowledgeable. The 90 minutes flew by with lots of interesting facts and stories. With one or two gems thrown in .
I would recommend it to anyone you wants to get a feel for St. Peter Port ...

Dear Rachel

Thank you for today, we had an excellent time. The fantastic amount of knowledge

you have about Guernsey gave us a real understanding of the island and its history.

Please also say thank you to Shaun.

It was great to try some of the Guernsey fare  thank you, I do hope they find a way to

keep the Guernsey cheese.

The tour was just right for us, we really felt like we had seen Guernsey in a way we

would never have managed by ourselves.

Once again thank you for today, you were brilliant.

Kindest regards
